🌀 Can you imagine a small black hole in your room ?

Rune Letter #7

When I was younger I remember enjoying the mind tickling caused by the idea of infinity. I would try to visualise the limits of the universe, and imagine what would lay beyond it.

My brain could only catch a glimpse of it, but I would get close enough to perceive a sort of tickling, very short and suddenly gone.

It seems that the universe is expanding.

This huge enormous sphere (cube?oval?tube) we call the universe is becoming bigger.

But where is it becoming bigger ?  What’s exactly beyond the universe ? What's beyond its expansion? What can you see there where seeing is not even a concept ? How can I imagine a space where space, time and light might not even exist ? A place in which nothing is cognizable.

The unknown

Hard to imagine and yet so close to us for the simple reason that we are part of this universe.

Long distances separate us from the edges of the universe, but our cells and atoms come from the very same place : the universe and all its beings have the same atomic origins. And what we think, do, feel, are, contributes to the universe’s growth.

The unknown existed before anything ever happened, originated us and will always exist. It must be then that even the non-existent exists. It occupies a space in our capacity of perception. If we can perceive it, it must exist. A bit like the picture (the visual proof) of a black hole. Somebody imagined black holes, studied them even before knowing if they actually existed and now we have the proofs : black holes do exist, they are in this universe, in some way close to us. How can it be ? Could you imagine a small black hole in your room ? Wouldn’t it challenge everything that you’ve ever believed in your life ? And nevertheless that is reality.

Dedicating each day 1 minute to the unknown of oneself could open passages into unexplored universes.

Thought this illustration of mine would fit this rune letter's topic. The man on the boat is escaping the event horizon of a vortex/black hole : the singularity hides an under-world with unknown laws.
